The Workshop
The workshop is open to visitors from Monday to Saturday, 12 noon till 5pm, most weeks throughout the year. It enjoys a beautiful view across the peat-workings of days gone by, to the Poit Idhe woods and hills. Poit Idhe has a special connection with the nearby Island of Iona – in the 9th century, the Gaelic-speaking monks from the Celtic monastery there would cross to the Ross of Mull to fish. This gives the area its name – Poit Idhe ( also sometimes Poit na h-Ì ) Pot of Iona.
